Strategic investor holds majority of shares in Biogas Nord AG
Bielefeld, 29 April 2009. As at the 27th of April 2009, Gerrit Holz, the founder of Biogas Nord AG sold 1,136,875 shares (44.3 %) in the company to European Business Partners of Warsaw, Poland, for an undisclosed price. Gerrit Holz will keep 5 % of the shares in the company.
At the same time Ms Asnat Drouianov and Mr. Ruud Feuchte joined Mr. Holz in the management of Biogas Nord Anlagenbau GmbH, and Mr. Matthias Kubat resigned from his position in the management.
These changes were the result of an agreement of the 21st of January 2009 by virtue of which the new owners loaned the company the sum of 1.5 Mio. Euro. A change in the Supervisory Board is also planned.
"We are encouraged about the long-term-oriented engagement of our strategic investors. By means of the already launched optimization in structure within the group and the impact of the cost reduction program, we look optimistically ahead for a sustainable growth of Biogas Nord. New chances in our international expansion will result from the new principal stockholder European Business Partners", says Gerrit Holz, CEO of Biogas Nord AG.
The new owners of the company intend to transform Biogas Nord into a global company, offering its experience and know-how in building biogas installations to customers not only in Europe, but all around the world. A special emphasis will be put into activities in the USA, where conditions become favourable towards Renewable Energy. The company will use EBP`s basis in Poland to expand in that country. Biogas Nord will also become a power company through part ownership of biogas installations.
